Event narrative
A brief tornado touched down just south of Prairie du Rocher, destroying an outbuilding before heading north-northeast. From there the tornado caused tree damage and damaged another farm outbuilding before dissipating just southwest of Route 155.
Wider weather episode
A mesoscale convective complex rolled through Illinois during the late evening of May 19th. Severe reports spanned from west-central Illinois through the Metro-East and into southern Illinois where a brief tornado touched down. Luckily no injuries or fatalities were reported.
