Event narrative
A storm survey found many dozens of trees (possibly several hundred) were downed, mostly along the north side of Pine Lake and on the east side of Holcombe Flowage, northwest of the village of Holcombe. Some trees landed on sheds, houses, and vehicles.
Wider weather episode
A strong line of storms traveled northeast through western Wisconsin during the late afternoon of May 15th. There was one tornado in St Croix County and several locations of damaging wind including areas of significant wind damage in Dunn, Chippewa, Barron, and Rusk Counties. Very large hail up to 4 inches in diameter fell in Eau Claire County.
