A fifth wheel trailer blown was over off FM 2731 north of Rising Star, and scattered tree damage was also reported in the same area.

On May 22, strong to severe thunderstorms developed across western North Texas, driven by a northward-moving warm front and a southward-propagating upper-level disturbance. Areas extending from Gainesville southwest to Eastland experienced occasional severe weather impacts, including large hail and damaging wind gusts.
