Event narrative

Two structure fires were reported minutes apart in western Temple due to lightning strikes. The fires were contained in the attics.

Wider weather episode

Severe weather accompanied a complex of thunderstorms as it surged southeast through Oklahoma into North Texas the night of May 25, with damaging winds being the prevalent severe event. Thunderstorms subsided the morning of May 26, then redeveloped that afternoon along the remnant outflow boundary and attendant surface front. Both large hail and damaging winds occurred as the afternoon storms pushed south through Central Texas, eventually exiting the area to the south that evening.
