Event narrative
Two rounds of hail fell near Deerfield Road south of Eau Claire over the course of about 15 minutes. The largest hail report was 2 inches in diameter around the intersection of Deerfield and State Highway 93.
Wider weather episode
A strong line of storms traveled northeast through western Wisconsin during the late afternoon of May 15th. There was one tornado in St Croix County and several locations of damaging wind including areas of significant wind damage in Dunn, Chippewa, Barron, and Rusk Counties. Very large hail up to 4 inches in diameter fell in Eau Claire County.
