Event narrative

Two rounds of hail fell on the south side of Eau Claire near Golf Road. The largest report of 2.75 inches came from the WQOW studio around 4:18 PM.

Wider weather episode

A strong line of storms traveled northeast through western Wisconsin during the late afternoon of May 15th. There was one tornado in St Croix County and several locations of damaging wind including areas of significant wind damage in Dunn, Chippewa, Barron, and Rusk Counties. Very large hail up to 4 inches in diameter fell in Eau Claire County.
