Event narrative

A storm survey determined significant thunderstorm wind damage near the Flambeau River and Dairyland Reservoir. There were several downed trees as well as twisted and moved docks. A pontoon had been partially lifted onto a nearby pontoon in Groothousen Bay.

Wider weather episode

A strong line of storms traveled northeast through western Wisconsin during the late afternoon of May 15th. There was one tornado in St Croix County and several locations of damaging wind including areas of significant wind damage in Dunn, Chippewa, Barron, and Rusk Counties. Very large hail up to 4 inches in diameter fell in Eau Claire County.
