Event narrative
Two young men were injured after a lighting strike hit a tree and spread to them while they were working on a car in their driveway. They went to a local hospital to be checked out and were released after a few hours.

A mesoscale convective system (MCS) dropped southward across Northeastern Pennsylvania moving into an environment with plenty of moisture and some instability during the late morning and early afternoon hours. While storms were non-severe, lightning was frequently observed. Two young men sustained minor injuries after being struck by lightning while working on a car.
