A slow-moving cold front arrived during the evening hours, moving into a very moist environment with strong wind shear. With some sunshine around during the afternoon ahead of the front, there was some modest instability. A few storms became strong to severe with locally damaging winds and heavy rain. One man was injured after getting struck by lightning while closing windows on his enclosed porch.
