Severe (D2) drought conditions across the eastern third of Boyd County improved to moderate (D1) drought by the end of May.

Wider weather episode

Drought conditions remained largely unchanged across western and north central Nebraska in May. There was some limited improvements over northern Nebraska, with some deterioration in drought conditions over southwestern Nebraska.
