A 67 mph thunderstorm wind gust measured on Wednesday evening at Augusta N Hydromet MT Mesonet site.

An upper level trough brought embedded shortwaves aloft that developed thunderstorms in the region. Storms on July 1st were concentrated in Southwest MT. Coverage of thunderstorms became widespread across the region July 2nd due to better shear and moisture. The main hazards with storms were severe wind gusts.
