AWOS station K1GM Golf measured a 59 mph wind gust.

An upper level trough brought embedded shortwaves aloft that developed thunderstorms in the region. Storms on July 1st were concentrated in Southwest MT. Coverage of thunderstorms became widespread across the region July 2nd due to better shear and moisture. The main hazards with storms were severe wind gusts.
