Severe (D2) drought conditions over far eastern and northeastern portions of McPherson County, improved to moderate (D1) drought by the end of May. Over far southwestern portions of the county, moderate (D1) drought deteriorated to severe (D2) drought conditions by the end of the month.

Wider weather episode

Drought conditions remained largely unchanged across western and north central Nebraska in May. There was some limited improvements over northern Nebraska, with some deterioration in drought conditions over southwestern Nebraska.
