Moderate (D1) drought conditions, over northern and the eastern half of Perkins County, deteriorated to severe (D2) drought conditions over far northern Perkins County by the end of May.

Drought conditions remained largely unchanged across western and north central Nebraska in May. There was some limited improvements over northern Nebraska, with some deterioration in drought conditions over southwestern Nebraska.
