A tree was reported down on a powerline near the intersection of Hurdle Mills Road and Walnut Grove Church Road.

The wider storm

A lee trough across western North Carolina and a cold front digging south from the Ohio Valley led to the development of a line of scattered showers and storms along the North Carolina and Virginia border and across the western Piedmont of North Carolina. These storms moved south and east in the central North Carolina Piedmont, where downed trees over Forsyth, Person, and Orange, were observed from severe storms.
