Numerous thunderstorms developed along a stationary front, situated over the western Sandhills during the late afternoon of June 17th. Additional thunderstorms developed over northeastern Colorado and drifted east into far southwestern Nebraska. These storms eventually became severe with ping pong ball sized hail and thunderstorm wind gusts up to 60 MPH reported in Chase and Hayes Counties.
