Several trees were down in the West End area and near downtown Winston-Salem including on Fourth Street.

A band of storms producing numerous reports of straight line wind damage moved through north-central and eastern North Carolina from mid afternoon through the evening hours. These storms were ahead of an approaching surface cold front and upper level area of low pressure.
