EF1 Tornado — Escambia, Florida
2025-05-10 · near (npa)nas Pensacola, Escambia, Florida
Event narrative
A brief tornado impacted the west side of the Warrington
community (near the Beach Haven area) early in the morning on May
10th. The tornado began near Selma St and rapidly moved to the
northeast as it crossed Gulf Beach Hwy. Small tree limbs were
scattered along Gulf Beach Hwy between S Fairfield Dr and Rentz
Ave. A corridor of tree damage was noted along several streets to
the north of Gulf Beach Hwy. Trees were uprooted and snapped
along both Rentz and Calhoun Ave, with tree branch debris noted
up and down the streets. The more significant corridor of damage
was noted near Graupera St and Rentz Ave, where uplift of a porch
awning led to roof damage to one home, with nearby roof damage to
an outbuilding/shed and windows broken at another nearby home.
Trees were snapped and uprooted near the aforementioned
intersection. The tornado continued up Rentz Ave, with tree
branch debris noted up and down the street. The tornado likely
lifted near Rentz Ave and Eliasberg St as the tree damage became
very sporadic to that intersection. Future adjustments to the
track are possible as higher-resolution satellite imagery becomes
available.
Wider weather episode
