The U-MICH and NMU Mesonet station GISM4 Granite Island recorded wind gusts in excess of 40 mph from 4:50 PM EST to 5:30 PM EST with a peak gust of 49 mph at 5:20 PM EST associated with a line of thunderstorms.

A deep low pressure over the Upper Midwest sent multiple rounds of severe weather through the over the nearshore waters of the Bay of Green Bay and Lake Michigan, first by an occluded front on the 15th and then with the main low pressure and associated cold front on the 16th.
