Thunderstorm winds blew down one tree and partially blocked the intersection of Blairmont Drive and Finch Drive.

Wider weather episode

A cold front approaching the Appalachian Mountains combined with a hot and humid air mass to produce scattered severe thunderstorms across southwest Virginia. Damaging wind gusts from these storms blew down several trees and power lines.
