Thunderstorm winds blew down three trees with one falling on to a power line along the 2200 block of South Scales Street, another along Kenwick Court, and the other falling on to a power line along the 300 block of Manley Farm Road.

A cold front approaching the Appalachian Mountains combined with a hot and humid air mass to produce a severe thunderstorm in Rockingham County of northwest North Carolina. Damaging wind gusts from this storm blew down three trees with one falling on to a power line, and lightning from this storm also struck and blew up a transformer.
