Utah Avalanche Center reported an avalanche caught, carried and buried a snowmobile rider in the Franklin Basin Area. It was estimated to be 3.5 feet deep and about 70 feet wide. Victim found and rescued by companion rider. The time of the avalanche was unknown.

A powerful winter storm brought a combination of heavy snow and very strong winds which caused road closures in eastern Idaho.
