Event narrative

Heavy rainfall between 3-5 inches fell across central Leake county. The corridor along MS Highway 16 had various levels of flooding. Multiple houses were flooded along Pilgrim Rest road and residents had to be rescued. Additionally, the intersection of Choctaw road and Okahoma Dr was flooded.

Wider weather episode

A few rounds of storms impacted the region between the 9th and 11th of June. A combination of a few storm clusters along with scattered activity resulted in isolated damaging winds and localized flash flooding.
