Several trees blew down in Sperryville, including near the intersection of US-522 Sperryville Pike and VA-231 F.T. Valley Road.

A very hot and humid airmass was present over the Mid-Atlantic as a lee pressure trough gradually strengthened. This resulted in several widely scattered severe thunderstorms with locally damaging wind gusts west of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
