Multiple trees blew down and blocked the intersection of Bridge Road and Dugan Road near Wilkesville.

The start of June remained in an active state across southeast Ohio as a stationary front hovered over Ohio and Pennsylvania starting on the 5th and 6th. The front briefly resumed a southeast march into West Virginia on the 7th before stalling across the area once again. A low pressure system finally pushed the boundary to the north and then sent a cold front through the middle Ohio Valley and central Appalachians on the 8th.

While the front retained residency nearby, periodic rounds of very heavy rain within thunderstorms deposited a couple inches of rain in some locations. Runoff from excessive rainfall led to flooding along Duck Creek at Macksburg on the 7th. In addition to the heavy rain, severe thunderstorms grew in earnest on June 9th with the help of daytime heating. Storms began firing up across southeast Ohio shortly after midday and resulted in a few hours of strong to damaging wind gusts before activity shifted out of the area. Main impacts from storms on that day were downed trees and power lines that resulted in local power outages.
