Wider weather episode
An afternoon of isolated to scattered thunderstorms took place across southwest Virginia on June 28th as a slow moving frontal boundary stumbled around the area. The location of the boundary and strong daytime heating resulted in storms to first develop into West Virginia before sinking down into Dickenson and Buchanan Counties. The storms that ventured into Virginia remained sub-severe and imposed singular tree damage in Dickenson County before activity weakened more and moved out of the area.
