Event narrative

Severe thunderstorm outflow winds downed multiple large branches and some trees in South Portland.

Wider weather episode

A very hot and humid airmass was over the state on June 24th. This provided plenty of fuel for thunderstorm development. An approaching cold front and weak upper level disturbance begin to approach the area creating enough forcing for storms to develop with a line becoming severe as in crossed the Lakes Region of New Hampshire before moving into Southwest Maine.
