A severe thunderstorm dropped hail the size of half dollars in Jackson Falls.
Wider weather episode
A upper level disturbance and approaching cold front interacted with a moist and unstable airmass that allowed for thunderstorm development. Moderate shear values allowed a few of the storms to become severe, mostly across the White Mountains.
