What the National Weather Service wrote

The Big Sioux River near Bruce rose above flood stage on the morning of July 29th, cresting around 1.59 feet above flood stage (9.59 ft) on July 31st. The river stayed above flood stage into early August.

The wider storm

A wet period at the end of the July resulted in saturated soils and increased runoff, allowing isolated river flooding along the upper Big Sioux River Basin. Minor to very localized moderate river flooding was observed.

Began near Bruce (44.5400, -96.9600).
