Multiple trees and power poles were down along the I-85 corridor in Warren County due to straight line winds. I-85 was closed for short time.

Wider weather episode

A band of storms producing numerous reports of straight line wind damage moved through north-central and eastern North Carolina from mid afternoon through the evening hours. These storms were ahead of an approaching surface cold front and upper level area of low pressure.
