Event narrative

The Evanston-Uinta County Airport - Burns Field ASOS (KEVW) station recorded a period of wind gusts to 70 mph as a result of outflow winds associated with a nearby cluster of showers and thunderstorms moving through the area.

Wider weather episode

A shortwave moving through the area resulted in the development of late afternoon to evening convection. This convection was fairly high based in nature, resulting in strong outflow winds in turn.
