Event narrative

Thunderstorm winds blew down two trees with one along Colonial Highway just east of Route 29 and the other along the 100 block of Anstey Road.

Wider weather episode

A cold front entered the Appalachian Mountains and produced numerous severe thunderstorms across southwest Virginia. Damaging wind gusts from these storms blew down numerous trees and power lines. A few of these trees fell on to two houses in Henry County, another house in Pittsylvania County, and a car in Halifax County.
