Event narrative

Thunderstorm winds blew down three trees with one along the 2600 block of Promise Land Road, another near the intersection of Central Church Road and Promise Land Road, and the other near the intersection of Central Church Road and Warren Lane.

Wider weather episode

A cold front entered the Appalachian Mountains and produced numerous severe thunderstorms across southwest Virginia. Damaging wind gusts from these storms blew down numerous trees and power lines. A few of these trees fell on to two houses in Henry County, another house in Pittsylvania County, and a car in Halifax County.
