Event narrative

Thunderstorm winds blew down several power lines and also blew down one tree that fell on to a house along Old Richmond Road.

Wider weather episode

A cold front entered the Appalachian Mountains and produced numerous severe thunderstorms across southwest Virginia. Damaging wind gusts from these storms blew down numerous trees and power lines. A few of these trees fell on to two houses in Henry County, another house in Pittsylvania County, and a car in Halifax County.
