Event narrative

Thunderstorm winds blew down three trees with one near the 300 block of Welsh Tract Road, another near the 300 block of Union Cemetery Road, and the other along Green Rock Hills Lane.

Wider weather episode

A cold front entered the Appalachian Mountains and produced numerous severe thunderstorms across southwest Virginia. Damaging wind gusts from these storms blew down numerous trees and power lines. A few of these trees fell on to two houses in Henry County, another house in Pittsylvania County, and a car in Halifax County.
