What the National Weather Service wrote
The I-15 at MP 369 North Brigham City mesonet station recorded a wind gust of 58 mph as a result of outflow winds associated with a nearby cluster of showers and thunderstorms moving through the area.
The wider storm
A weak system provided just enough energy to trigger isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms. Given limited moisture, this activity was fairly high based in nature resulting in activity which produced instances of strong to severe wind gusts.
