Event narrative

Multiple trees were blown down in Columbus and around the county by strong winds associated with a wake low. Two homes were damaged by fallen trees. A peak wind gust of 51 mph out of the east was measured by the Golden Triangle Airport AWOS site KGTR during this time frame.

Wider weather episode

A large weather system impacted the region on May 6th and brought a few rounds of rain and storms to the area. A few instances of severe weather occurred across the forecast area.
