Wider weather episode

Strong to severe supercell thunderstorms developed during the early afternoon hours on May 2nd, 2005 ahead of a pre-frontal trough axis moving towards central Tennessee. A few of these storms produced large hail and damaging winds, especially near the Lynchburg and Decherd areas. By the mid to late afternoon hours, storms weakened as a severe line of thunderstorms continued to develop and push east across much of Alabama.
