Event narrative

A thunderstorm produced wind gusts estimated at 70 mph. A Cooperative Observer in Sabinal reported widespread thunderstorm wind damage including broken power poles, downed trees, damaged and destroyed outbuildings, and roof damage to homes.

Wider weather episode

A mid-level shortwave trough generated thunderstorms over the Big Bend region, and these storms moved into South-Central Texas. Some of these storms produced damaging wind gusts.
