EF0 Tornado — Hays, Texas

Event narrative
An NWS storm survey team determined a thunderstorm produced a tornado south of Wimberley. The track of the second tornado was estimated through a combination of information gathered by the survey team and radar data. While much of the damage fell to the north-northeast, indications are that the tornado moved just north of the intersection of Teton Circle and Appalachian Rd. with the most significant damage occurring in this area. The damage was rated EF0 with maximum winds of 80 mph.
Wider weather episode
A mid-level shortwave trough moved over Texas and combined with an abnormally moist airmass to generate thunderstorms. These storms were very efficient rain producers dropping locally heavy rain that led to flash flooding. There were also a few severe thunderstorms.
