Severe (D2) drought conditions, over far northern portions of Perkins County, improved to moderate (D1) drought conditions by the end of June.

The wider storm

Abundant rainfall fell in June across western and north central Nebraska. This led to improvement in drought conditions across almost all of western and north central Nebraska. By the end of the month, three pockets of severe (D2) drought remained. The first over the eastern Sandhills, the second over western Garden County and the third over southeastern Hayes into most of Frontier County.
