A retail store owner reported severe thunderstorm wind gusts shattered the glass door by breaking the door's hinges during the peak of the storm. High winds entered the store, blowing merchandise around and soaking both goods and visitors.

Wider weather episode

A severe mesoscale convective system, MCS, moved west to east across southern Tennessee, northern Alabama, and northern Georgia during the afternoon of the 7th. This complex produced significant utility infrastructure and other wind related damages across the Chattanooga metro.
