Event narrative
Exceptional(D4) drought continued over the southern half of the zone with Extreme(D3) drought over the northern half. The Cliff Cooperative Observer reported 0.32 inches of precipitation which was 0.32 inches below normal.
Wider weather episode
While June 2025 brought at least slightly above normal precipitation to most of the region, it wasn't enough to improve drought conditions for southern New Mexico. Extreme(D3) to Exceptional(D4) drought continued through the month.
