Event narrative

The entire zone remained in Exceptional(D4) drought during the month of June. The Cooperative Observer at Antelope Wells received 1.16 inches of precipitation which was 0.45 inches above normal.

Wider weather episode

While June 2025 brought at least slightly above normal precipitation to most of the region, it wasn't enough to improve drought conditions for southern New Mexico. Extreme(D3) to Exceptional(D4) drought continued through the month.
