Strong thunderstorm winds knocked a tree down on wires. The winds were associated with the strong outflow boundary from the storm.
Wider weather episode
A cold front and upper-level wave moving across the area triggered scattered showers and thunderstorms during the afternoon and early evening. While wind shear values were modest, there was sufficient instability for a few storms to become strong to severe producing damaging wind gusts, hail, and heavy rainfall. A strong outflow boundary associated with one of the storms also knocked down multiple trees.
