Thunderstorm winds blew down one tree that fell on to a power line along North Carolina Route 268 just east with the intersection of Joe Layne Mill Road.

Wider weather episode

A frontal boundary approaching from the north combined with a hot and humid air mass to produce isolated severe thunderstorms across northwest North Carolina. Damaging wind gusts from these storms blew down a few trees and power lines.
