What the National Weather Service wrote

Thunderstorms produced heavy rain that led to flash flooding. The Emergency Manager reported flooding along FM 2790 between the South Wind Subdivision and Luckey Rd. east of Lytle. There were multiple water rescues.

The wider storm

A mid-level shortwave trough moved over Texas and combined with an abnormally moist airmass to generate thunderstorms. These storms were very efficient rain producers dropping locally heavy rain that led to flash flooding. There were also a few severe thunderstorms.
