Strong thunderstorm winds knocked down multiple trees on a large property, and a tree that fell onto a farmhouse roof cracked the wooden rafters.

The wider storm

A cold front and upper-level wave moving across the area triggered scattered showers and thunderstorms during the afternoon and early evening. While wind shear values were modest, there was sufficient instability for a few storms to become strong to severe producing damaging wind gusts, hail, and heavy rainfall. A strong outflow boundary associated with one of the storms also knocked down multiple trees.
