Event narrative

A video submitted recorded extensive standing water and flooding along Madison Street including the parking lot of Ace Hardware Store. Water was reportedly several inches deep in the backyard of a home nearby, and flood water seeped into their basement. A total of 5.04 inches of rain fell in Lebanon within a 2.5 hour span. Nearby Summerfield also received 5 inches of rain, but flash flooding was not reported here.

Wider weather episode

Numerous thunderstorms developed along and ahead of a cold front during the late morning into early afternoon of July 6th. The high moisture/low shear environment was favorable for wet microbursts and heavy rainfall. Thunderstorms generally acted as expected given the environment, with wind damage and flash flooding occurring. A tornado also impacted western Fayette County in the late afternoon.
