Event narrative

Major river flooding was observed at Rye along the Saline River. In fact the river crested at a stage of 30.70 feet which fell less than one foot below of the all time record high stage of 31.40 feet set back in May of 1968.

Wider weather episode

Heavy rainfall over a multiday period brought flooding to many rivers across Arkansas. Points along the White, Black, Cache, and Ouachita Rivers remained in flood through the remainder of the month.
